1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government ties. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, runs official checks, or files documents for a visitor.

Its role is to identify Hockley County custodians, including the sheriff, criminal courts, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and to provide access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools on the pages
• Interfere with performance or prevent another person from using the site
• Attempt unauthorized access to any system or account
• Use site information to threaten, stalk, or harass a person
• Rely on the content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
• Violate federal, Texas, or local law through site use

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information from the site or a linked tool to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or discriminate against another person. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 places special weight on misuse of Texas Public Sex Offender Registry data. Conduct aimed at injuring or harassing a listed person may carry criminal or civil consequences. Registry access supports public safety awareness, not vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, consumer reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners' tools are also not offered for FCRA screening. You must not use site or linked-tool data to:

• Set insurance terms or evaluate creditworthiness
• Make an employment decision
• Evaluate a rental or housing application
• Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
• Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A lawful check for a regulated purpose must come through the Texas Department of Public Safety when appropriate or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is not legal advice. General explanations of Hockley County records cannot determine how a Texas charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to a particular person. Seek advice from a licensed Texas attorney.

6. No Warranties

All site content is provided "as is." We make no promise that:

• A partner's search result will be complete or correct
• Pages contain no error, defect, or security weakness
• The service will remain continuously available
• Information is complete, accurate, or current at all times

Charges, dispositions, expunctions, and access rules can change a record. Delays and gaps are therefore possible. No site statement is an official declaration from a court, sheriff, clerk, or other public body.

Links can lead to courts, sheriffs, Texas agencies, legal resources, and outside search providers. Those destinations are beyond our control. We are not responsible for their availability, content, charges, or data practices. Review a destination's own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Hockley County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage arising from site use, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, and actions arising from your use of the site or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Texas. Public access to Hockley County agency records remains governed separately by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while criminal-history dissemination limits appear in Government Code §§ 411.081 through 411.085.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions. A revision takes effect when the updated terms are posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or end access at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected term will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it enforceable.
