Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box goes directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be kept so our team can answer it. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may receive routine technical details about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring site, when available
- Pages opened and time spent on them
- Device category and operating system

- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Hockley County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the Hockley County Sheriff, local courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not turned into a consumer report or a third-party criminal file.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted to one of those tools is governed by that provider's privacy policy. The provider, not this site, sets its retention and sharing rules. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Texas agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy terms apply. Check them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed to:
- Advertising networks that place ads
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query submitted to their tool
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards protect the information collected. No internet service is completely secure, however, so the site cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted when a valid request is received.
Your Data Rights
Rights may depend on the visitor's location and the law that applies. Texas public criminal-history dissemination is limited by Government Code §§ 411.081 through 411.085, while public access to qualifying conviction and deferred-adjudication data is addressed by § 411.135. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs records held by public bodies, not private site data. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal information held about them
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request deletion where the law provides that choice
- Opt out of processing when an applicable law creates that right
